As we at The Golf Inn are fortunate to have an ever-growing larder of local suppliers on our doorstep, we have created a classic Scottish Afternoon Tea, which celebrates local produce and offers a little bit of afternoon indulgence.
The star player in any traditional afternoon tea has to be freshly baked scones, smothered in clotted cream. So striving to provide the tastiest and most sustainable dishes to our customers, we source our cream from the family owned Yester Farm Dairies, one of the two remaining dairies left in East Lothian. Perfectly paired with our clotted cream is Mabel’s Jams. Made with love in Musselburgh, Mabel’s Kitchen produces sweet and savoury jams and curds using traditional methods and small batch production. With sandwiches quartered to tempt the moreish sampling of all flavours, we’ve stuck with the tried and tested traditional tastes.
Ferrygate Farm in North Berwick provides eggs for our egg mayonnaise and cress sandwich. And only 20 minutes down the coastline, our neighbours Belhaven Smokehouse, farm and smoke beautiful Scottish salmon, which, when teamed with horseradish cream, makes for a perfect locally sourced sandwich.
No afternoon tea would be complete without a selection of cakes and mini sweet treats. George Anderson & Sons, our fresh fruit supplier, enables us to create seasonal sweet treats using fresh fruits. We use traditionally British flavours with a few exotic tastes too.
Pre-booking for Afternoon Tea is essential as all items are freshly prepared. For bookings please call 01620 843 259 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
