When we opened our doors in March 2014, we had a few simple ambitions for the Golf Inn – the welcome would always be warm, the food would be fresh and fabulous, and the ambience relaxed.
We want the Golf to have all the elements of a traditional village inn, but all the touches that make a place special. The Golf is part of our lives and we hope it will be part of yours too – we want it to be a place where you can relax over coffee or a couple of drinks, enjoy a leisurely lunch with the family or celebrate a milestone event.
Derek and Nikki – the management team behind the Golf – have spent many years in the hospitality industry and have worked (both together and individually) at some of the finest restaurants around.
If hospitality is in Nikki’s blood – her parents, Allan and Jen Corbett owned and ran Edinburgh institution, Skipper’s Bistro for many years – then the Golf is in her heart. Not only did Nikki meet her husband here, but they also got married here in 2009 – making the Golf a real part of her life.
Nikki has spent her entire career in the industry, working in renowned bars and restaurants around the world. Before taking over the Golf, she and her family spent many years living and working in France. They’ve now settled back in Gullane and Nikki hopes that the Golf will become as special to its guests as it is to her.
